Today in New Zealand
Today we have planted 200 native trees at a council reserve close to our school. We had 40 children from 2 classrooms with 15 parents helping. My class sent out invitations to the local community and we had a great response. We had our local Mayor, our Member for Parliament, several government hopefuls (it is election year), local council representatives, Forest & Bird people and others interested in what we are doing. We had coverage on our local radio, and had two newspapers come down and take photos and write articles. The children were responsible for spreading the message and have done a great job.
